Marygrove Community Association
Purpose and Plan
Marygrove Community Association, a voluntary community association, was incorporated as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit in 2015. The Purpose and Plan of the Marygrove Community Association is to be the leader in deciding the future and direction of our Detroit neighborhood. We establish relationships and build connections between neighbors, businesses, and other stakeholders vested in our community's thriving.
The Association welcomes residents, property owners, businesses, places of worship, and other Marygrove community stakeholders to join us in addressing and resolving significant community issues through charity, education, and the planning and hosting of social events that lessen neighborhood tensions and respond to community deterioration.
Mission Statement
We believe in the power of community-driven change. We support each other in finding solutions to local challenges, advocating for our common interests, and taking action to enhance the overall quality of life in our neighborhood block-by-block.
Join a Commitee
The Marygrove Community Association operates through various committees that guide and support the work of the Association. Membership in a committee does not require paid membership, although leadership positions within the committees are reserved for board members. The Association has the following committees:
Communications Committee
Help tell MCA’s story. This team manages newsletters, social media, and neighborhood updates that keep everyone informed and engaged. If you enjoy writing, design, photography, or simply staying connected, we’d love to have you.
Finance Committee
Support a strong financial future for our neighborhood. This committee oversees budgeting, fundraising strategy, and financial stewardship. Whether you’re experienced with budgets or just curious, your skills can make a meaningful impact.
Membership Committee
Grow and strengthen our community. This group leads outreach, welcomes new residents, and builds opportunities for neighbors to get involved. If you enjoy meeting people and building relationships, this is the place for you.
Operations Committee
Keep the MCA running smoothly. Operations handles logistics and behind-the-scenes coordination that make our events and initiatives possible. If you like organizing details, improving systems, or making sure tasks get done, we need your help.
